August 15th Update - Website & Foundations
A visit to the new plot for the Dullstroom Community Centre: new photos, visible progress on the new site, and the first steps for a stronger digital presence.
It’s always a pleasure to catch up with Simphiwe and the DCC team whenever i’m in Dullstroom - the main purpose of this trip was to get some new photos for this website - and get some snaps of the new community centre developments.
The old building is as busy as ever, with hundreds of children dancing, eating, and playing. And just nextdoor we’re now clearing topsoil and prepping to pour foundations for the new centre.

I bumped into Victor Zodwa from the Lima Rural Development Foundation posing on site. He caught me up on the current water, electricity and fence developments - there is a bunch happening!
Now that we have a website, I thought it a good time to set up a Google Profile for the DCC - it’ll help you navigate there if you ever need to drop anything off.
We’re also getting an Instagram page up and running to help share updates, and will share that soon. Update: our Instagram page is now live. You can, as always, keep up to date on our facebook page.
If you’d like to support, we’re collecting old or unused laptops for the kids at the centre. Even if it’s outdated, it can still make a huge difference for students in Dullstroom who need access to basic computing.
We’ve already had two laptops donated by Kabir Prema which are much appreciated! I’m in the process of formatting them to drop off on my next visit. If you’d like to help, reach out - or contribute to the ongoing fundraising to improve the DCC’s facilities.
